The first thought is always to blame the leader. “He did not lead us in the right direction.” “She told us to do this.” “He didn’t point it out.” Sadly and even unreasonably, the leader is to be blamed for he or she leads and is responsible. He or she is tasked to ensure everything goes well and even if he or she is not directly at fault, the objectives aren’t met and therefore the leader is to be blamed.
Blame the leader then. That is one thing we know to do whenever something goes wrong. The question then is, who exactly is the leader? In the scenario of a project, it is clear and simple that the person elected is the leader but in the governance of our country? Are we led by the government or are we led by the corporations? To be accurate, let me rephrase myself. Are we led by the government? Yes. But between the government and the corporations, who is the leader?
Is the government aiding the corporations or merely doing their biddings. Are legislations set for the benefits of the corporations or for the governance of the country?
If the government is leading the corporations, which comes first? The people or the corporations?
School has begun and had been going on for the past 2 days. Somehow, I’m already feeling the stress… Maybe cause I’m teaching tuition, freelancing and studying at the same time. And not to mention what my studies is like right now… But still, it will all be worth it and this is a choice that I made myself so no matter how sucky it gets, I will just have to endure and complete it.
Spend half the night doing up a comp for the client… I kinda like it but it still feels raw…. Well I can let it feel that way since it’s still in preview state and if they do like it, I probably have to do everything from scratch with highest images..
School’s been interesting, sharing our portfolio and looking at the amazing works that the other students have done. Somehow, I hoping that by the time I graduate next year, my portfolio will have list of awesome new words that i won’t hesitate to add into the book….
On Monday I walked passes the guan yin temple area after Sch and saw some really interesting things like for example, how people will pray at the gates of the temple after it’s closed. Good place to go to for inspiration.
I’m so tired… It somehow feels like being in OCS again where sleep is rare and comes in small quantity. How much sleep can I get tonight? I wonder… Have got so many things to do that i just can’t continue taking my own sweet time like I used to. Yes that’s a bad habit of mine… When it cones to doing work, I procrastinate and get really easily distracted. Especially by Mr Internet. Admonition I’m distracted by interesting websites that we worth the time, I won’t mind but more often than not, I find myself reading through the Facebook posts online……
Ok bus ride is ending so I shall end it off here. I wish myself a good day ahead!

So for the past 2 days I’ve been using my new phone, the HTC Sensation. It’s a rather good phone but the battery life is a little disappointing but I found out the most touch screen phones are like this. Furthermore, having a phone that has limited battery life has got its upside too. It means that I won’t stay put for top long which means that i get to save money.
Am still trying to get used to typing on a touch screen phone though. Do far so good but there is bound to be some weird odds in this post due to the use of autocorrect.
So what have I been up to other than getting a new phone? I’ve installed Lion on my Mac and it’s been running that for the past two days. Haven’t got the chance to really explore the new OS yet but I’m hoping that it will be good.
Also, I caught harry potter and had a good laugh especially at voldemort. The sounds he made was so funny…. Lastly, went to IKEA for meatballs for the first time yesterday. Don’t get me wrong. It’s nt my first time having IKEA meatballs but it’s just my first time having it there. I had the hotdog too and it was terrible. The bun was cold and not toasted like they used to do it. But nw, u get a free ice cream when u buy a hotdog and drink combo. So what they will do is to give u an IKEA coin so and an empty code and all u have to do is head over to one of two ice cream machines, put your cone on it and cone in it and press the button the machine will automatically dispense the icecream onto your cone nicely.
Was studying Chem on Friday and realised that if I had studied like I did on Friday, I would have scored darn well for my o levels. It’s really simple unlike when i was studying it in secondary school…
In a while, i’ll be having dinner with Clar’s family and yes, it is rather scary if you think of it… Meeting all her uncles and aunties and also her dad. No choice la.. got to do this sooner or later so wish me luck!

The Sad Xiao Long Bao - Don’t Eat Me!!!
When you first came, I remember lugging you in a black trash bag all the way from Toa Payoh to Esplanade and then to Clementi. You were damn heavy. But when I finally took you out, you looked so beautiful. The slight reflection of light on your matte steel surface. I so wanted to turn it on but I left you to charge for the night before I can get to hear the chime.
The next day, I pressed the button and “whaung” rang the chime. Ah… such a lovely sound. You were so fast and in seconds, you were booted up! I was so proud to be your owner.
When I brought you to school, I was so proud of you, being metal unlike the white plastic ones. I downloaded apps and made you a super computer, making life a breeze for me. Together we played Worms Armageddon, Star Wars, Warcraft and many other games. When I was bored, we watched countless movies and listened to many gigabytes of music.
Aside from having fun, we did work too. When other laptops lagged, their owners will bang in frustration but with you, i always “sayang-ed” you encouragingly and it always worked. You’ve been with me through photoshop files that were 2-3 hundred mb of size, rendering huge movie files and running photoshop, flash and illustrator all at once.
But now, it is time to move on. No, please understand that I have no choice. You are on permanent life support now and can’t function without being hooked on to the power. You lag when I play youtube videos. I know that you can still run photoshop flash and illustrator at the same time but just not at that speed you used to do it at. And you are slowly unable to support Mr Wacom and his capability of moving the cursor around with ease.
Webpages are taking a long time to load and when I install the latest available version of Opera that you can take, Opera warns me that it’s not safe to use outdated versions. You are running OSX 10.4 when it’s now 10.6 and soon, it will be 10.7. The lion is no matter what the king of the jungle. The tiger is from India….
I will miss you and I will always remember the days and nights that we spent together.
You are the cute 12” laptop that I’ve had and loved. Thank you PowerBook. You will always be HJ’s PB and I will miss you. After I finish this one last design on you, I shall be moving on to a MacBook Pro. It will learn of your glorious past and strive on with me for a better future. Bye PowerBook.

I’m feeling guilty.
When dad wrote the cheque, he looked so stressed. It’s a huge sum of money, really. All but into a one year education that i’m going to be embarking on. He asked me if i’m confident that i can get through and earn myself a degree in graphic communication. I told him that i can write, i can design so it should be ok. Of course there will be difficulties but that’s what learning is about. He seemed rather convinced but still look stressed. Or was he tired?
Also my laptop will be costing roughly 3.3k… I know it’s a much needed 3.3k laptop but still, no one has gotten something so expensive at home before. My eldest brother had a laptop that recently broke down after maybe 8 years? Well mine’s 6 years old and it is really slow when it comes to doing what i need to do, design. But i still can manage with it. I mean… It’s a mix between a need and a want. That’s making me feel guilty. But since school’s going to start soon, i will really need it… Tomorrow i shall bank in the cheque that he wrote me and i’ll go make the purchase the day after.
Oh yea i started teaching tuition. Have got two students currently. One is a sec 3 boy who seems to a have some form of disability, either speech or mental. This disability is really mild as he’s still schooling at a mainstream secondary school. But from what I can conclude, he has got speech problem, slight adhd and very bad grammar. But i also realized that he’s got a good memory, good learning attitude and is a really nice boy. The second one is a sec 3 girl whom i knew from NCC. She’s cute like a little sister and i think it’s gonna be fun tutoring her.
From tuition, i’m going to be earning 3.5 hundred every month and from there, i still need to earn more so that i’ve got something to spend and still have got savings. Maybe one or two more tutees? Hmmm need to go find more kids to teach. I’m actually worying about money. I hate to have to ask my dad for an allowance and i won’t do so. Guess i’ll have to really cut down on my daily expenses and not spend so much. Is 350 enough for a month? I hope so… That’s around 10 dollars everyday with 50 dollars savings…
Ok my aim is to keep my spendings to 10 dollars per day or less!
Oh just to note, i love lifting my girl! =D
